Lalita Ross is an award-winning filmmaker & creative director with multi-disciplinary experience across film, screen business, media, fine arts & design.
She has worked across the globe commercially and within the non-for-profit sector. Her passion and focus has been on social impact projects and elevating brands and artists to their highest potential through consultation and creative coaching.
After completing a degree in film and media at UNSW, Lalita studied full time directing for documentary at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), training under award-winning filmmakers such as D. A. Pennebaker, Gillian Armstrong and Bob Connolly.
She has traveled extensively as an independent filmmaker, notably having made films in Africa and India, specifically in conjunction with the Wilderness Group and Women Against Rape (WAR).
In 2014, Lalita joined the American company Inner Voice Productions and co-directed and produced the award-winning documentary Hare Krishna! The Mantra, the Movement and the Swami who started it all. The film played in theaters around the world for 2 years and was distributed by Abramorama (Ron Howard’s The Beatles: Eight Days a Week, Oscar Nominated Exit Through the Gift Shop). The film’s opening weekend in New York received the highest Per Screen Average for any independent film in America.
In 2018 she took on the role of Creative Director for the Bhakti Center, a multi-million dollar organisation that is rated one of New York’s most popular Yoga and Meditation destinations. During her tenure, she transformed the brand and designed the renovation of their premiere studios in Manhattan. During the Covid outbreak of 2020, she helped the organisation shift online and exceed their financial goals, resulting in their highest earning fiscal year ever.
Lalita now resides near Byron Bay in Australia, working as a creative brand consultant, filmmaker and artist.
